Baltimore Mayoral Campaign

Campaign Management | Baltimore, Maryland, USA

Baltimore’s local political scene in 2016 proved to be very interesting, especially in regards to the office of Mayor. At one point there were over 26 Mayoral Candidates. One of those candidates, an Unaffiliated newcomer retained Bm Designs to create her campaign identity, website and collateral. The candidate had a small but specific brief on their

brand image:

1. Because the candidate was neither Republican or Democrat they wanted something outside of the typical red, white and blue motifs.

2. The candidate has been a Baltimore resident their entire life the brand image should reflect Baltimore.

3. The candidate is not well known among political circle, the identity should promote the candidates name.

4. The platform’s focus in on team leadership; the idea that it will take many people to mend our city’s problems. No one person is the complete solution.

The first two requirements were accomplished with the use of a more amiable color palette that also relates the city’s official colors. The identity features an “M” representing the candidates last name. The last requirement was accomplished by using a fractal motif showing many pieces make up the whole. “The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.”
